All are welcome – no matter how many left feet you have or what age you are. We dancemainly English ceilidh dances depending upon the band and caller. No previous experience necessary as all dances are taught before dancing and there are regular experienced dancers to help beginners through each dance if required.

No need to book, just turn up. (Casual dress code and we recommend you wear comfortable, flat shoes) You don’t have to dance and no partner is necessary, you can just come and enjoy the atmosphere if you want.We welcome anyone with the ability to play music, sing, call, or share any other talent.

Mumpers meets on selected days through the year (please check the Events page), at Spondon Village Hall, Sitwell Street, Derby, DE21 7FG. Ceilidhs run from 7.30pm to 11.00pm. Bar is available with ale on draft and a large free car park at venue.

Occasionally we hold “Residents night Ceilidhs” when anyone and everyone can join in with our resident band “Forbidden Gannet.”
If you want to join in on a residents night you’re welcome to have a go, you don’t have to play into a mike if you’re not yet confident about playing in front of an audience then come along and busk along in the background, please bring your own instrument. Alternatively, if you would like to practice the tunes without an audience then come to our beginner friendly music session on Sunday evenings (the first Sunday of each month) at the Patternmakers Arms, Duffield, 8-10pm.

Come and join us for our next ceilidh. Admission is £10 per adult on the door, £8 for students.  Tickets may be bought in advance at a reduced price, please see the Events page for this information.
